About Me

I grew up in Oklahoma, moving around a lot, but we always had my grandma's 160 acre farm to call home. Sometimes that was my only home. While it wasn't an easy childhood, having adventures with enough land for my imagination to run wild, spurred me into my creativity. I loved reading as much as I loved being outside. Some of my favorites were The Chronicles of Narnia, The Boxcar Children, and anything by Bill Wallace.

I moved to Kansas City after high school and attended a music program at a school that I now want nothing to do with. (If you know, you know.) I'm not an amazing singer or musician, but songwriting has burrowed its way into a special place in my heart.

Now, I live in the woods of Tennessee with my love interest of a husband, magical toddler, and three wild beasts. I am working toward an Elementary Education degree and am also in the process of gaining my tribal membership and joining the Chickasaw Nation.

I am an active member of SCBWI since attending my first Middle of the Map conference in October 2019, now a member of the Midsouth region, and I take part in a critique group. The Apparently Famous Mia Miller was also selected for Round Table Mentor 2025, and I've worked through revisions as a mentee.
